August so far

And so, with August summer begins to wind down.  Of course, there are lots of hot summer days ahead of us, but the light has changed -- it's dark later in the morning and earlier in the evening, and the vegetables and flowers, while still producing mightily, are beginning to look a little tired.  August is here.  

We've had cucumbers nearly every night with dinner.  Tomatoes are ready for saucing or oven roasting.

Five months old; next month they'll be "wethered" and will settle down into even sweeter boys.

The sky around here continues to amaze me.

Sage.  For Thanksgiving stuffing.  Yum.
